What data we process
Depending on how you use our shop, we may process your name, email address, telephone number, billing and delivery address, order and return information, customer-service messages, device and browser information, IP address, cookie identifiers and information about how you use the website.
Payment details are processed through Shopify and the payment providers available at checkout. Ercyel does not store your full raw payment-card number.
Why we process your data
We use personal data to process and deliver orders, handle payments and returns, provide customer service, prevent fraud, comply with accounting and other legal obligations, improve the shop and, where permitted, send marketing or measure advertising performance.
Our legal bases under the GDPR include performance of our contract with you, compliance with legal obligations, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the shop, and consent where the law requires consent, including for certain marketing or analytics technologies.
Who receives data
We use service providers to operate Ercyel. These include Shopify for the webshop and checkout, payment providers offered through checkout, fulfillment and logistics providers including CJdropshipping where they fulfill an order, Parcel Panel for shipment tracking and Judge.me for product-review functionality. Only information needed for the relevant service is shared.
For example, a fulfillment provider may receive your name, delivery address, contact details and order contents so that your parcel can be prepared and delivered.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
Essential technologies are used to operate the shop and checkout. Analytics, advertising or personalization technologies may also be used where they are activated. Where consent is legally required, those technologies should only be used in accordance with your consent choices. You can change available privacy or cookie choices through the controls provided on the website or in your browser.
International transfers
Some service providers or their subprocessors may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where required, transfers are protected by an adequacy decision, Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism. Direct fulfillment of an order can also require delivery information to be processed in the country from which the parcel is dispatched.
How long we keep data
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, including to perform orders, handle disputes and returns, and meet Belgian accounting, tax and other legal retention obligations. Data that is no longer required is deleted or anonymised where appropriate.
Your rights
Subject to the conditions of the GDPR, you can request access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing and data portability, and you can object to certain processing. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données) or, where applicable, the supervisory authority in your country of residence.
Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but access to data is limited to what is necessary for operating the shop and its services.

We may update this policy when our services, suppliers or legal obligations change. The current version is published on this page.
